BOOK READINGS IN ENGLISH, GERMAN AND FRENCH

Invite children’s book author Esther Buerki for a warm and engaging book reading in English, German, or French.

Her readings come alive through vivid storytelling and an open, heartfelt discussion with the audience. Depending on the group, one or several of the following topics can be explored together:

  • How do animals—especially cats and dogs—express themselves?

  • How can we humans learn to understand their language?

  • When and why do I sometimes feel that I am not good enough?

  • When do I feel misunderstood by my classmates?

Esther lovingly adapts each reading to the age of the children and the nature of the event. She offers readings at libraries, schools, and special events, always creating a safe and inspiring space for curiosity, reflection, and connection.

WELL-ATTENDED READING IN ELGG

On a cold day in January, all chairs were occupied at the Bechandra Bistro in Elgg.
Not only small visitors had come to listen to the story about the boy Leonard and his cat Loulou, but also older people sat in the audience and were pleased that the author Esther Buerki paid a visit to her village and read from her children’s book. The story contains a deeper meaning that also encourages and touches adults to think about it.

VERY ATTENTIVE GIRLS AND BOYS IN ST. GALLEN

When the School Buchwald in St. Gallen celebrated its 100th anniversary, Esther Buerki read from her first book Leonard and Loulou and discussed with the girls and boys not only about the different languages of cats and dogs, but also talked about how it feels to be teased by colleagues or how it feels when you think you are not good enough compared to others.
